Alaina Zhang

Alaina is a rising freshman at Stanford University. She empowers students through scientific research, mentorship, and political advocacy, working to bridge environmental science with real-world impact.

Alaina has been recognized as a Regeneron Science Talent Search (STS) Top 300 Scholar, 1st Grand Award winner at the State Science & Engineering Fair, and one of Rhode Island’s Top 10 Changemakers. She scored 1600 on the SAT, 36 on ACT, and earned AP scores of 5 in Biology, Environmental Science, Calculus BC, and English Language.

Beyond science, Alaina is also deeply engaged in philosophy and writing. She received a Scholastic award for Writing and High Commendation in the John Locke International Writing Competition. She attended prestigious programs and internships, including the Stanford Summer Humanities Institute and a Brown University laboratory internship. Alaina began building tutoring experiences in high school when she tutored students in science, math, and English. Since then, Alaina has expanded her tutoring experiences on reading, writing, SAT/ACT, college applications, and life coaching. Alaina’s passion for environmental science extends beyond her research—she engages with state senators and representatives, organizes local programs, and gives guest lectures in elementary and high schools to promote environmental awareness.
