Class Outline and Expectations 
This course will focus on introducing students to novels from a variety of genres. Specifically, we will cover fantasy, modern fairytales, biography, and fiction. This diverse reading list will accompany lessons on a variety of writing styles, including creative writing, journalism, personal narrative, and literary academic. Each week I will provide materials (generally in a PPT) posted to the Slides and Resources folder to guide students in completing their homework.  Students will write a full piece (short story or essay) every two weeks and will have other supporting assignments (plans) along the way. Writing assignments are due 2 days before class, and the teacher will grade the homework before class.  Each student will receive a letter grade (A/B/C/D) on each assignment as well as a final grade. Individual assignments and final grades will be determined according to the guidelines below.
