2024 MS106-2 Sunday Class
Sunday 7:30 PM-9:00 PM ( 10/6/2024- 01/19/2025)
Class Outline and Expectations
This course will focus on introducing students to novels from a variety of genres. Specifically, we will cover fantasy, modern fairytales, biography, comedy/farce, and fiction. This diverse reading list will accompany lessons on various writing styles, including creative writing, journalism, personal narrative, and literary academics. Each week I will provide materials (generally in a PPT) posted to the Slides and Resources folder to guide students in completing their homework. Students will write one full piece (short story or essay) every two weeks, but will have other supporting assignments (plans) along the way. Writing assignments are due 48 hours before class. While individual grades won’t be lowered due to late submissions, their final grade may be lowered if late work becomes a pattern. Each student will receive a letter grade (A/B/C/D) on each assignment and a final grade. Individual assignments and final grades will be determined according to the guidelines below.
