Class Outline and Expectations
This course will focus on introducing students to novels from a variety of genres. Specifically, we will cover fantasy, modern fairytales, biography, and fiction. This diverse reading list will accompany lessons on a variety of writing styles, including creative writing, journalism, personal narrative, and literary academic. Students will write a full piece (short story or essay) every two weeks and will have other supporting assignments (plans) along the way. Writing assignments are due 24 hours before cl byass, and the teacher will grade the homework before class. Each student will receive a letter grade (A/B/C/D) on each assignment as well as a final grade. Individual assignments and final grades will be determined according to the guidelines below. Please read the first 15 Chapters of The Hollow Bettle before the first class.
