Course description and expectations:
In this course, students will spend ten weeks preparing for the upper-level SSAT examination. Students will spend 4 weeks preparing for the verbal section, 4 weeks preparing for the reading section, 1 week preparing for the math section, and 1 week preparing for the unscored writing section. For each section, students will learn about the test format, time limit, number of questions, question types and corresponding strategies. They will also take various practice tests to prepare them fully. Finally, students will also learn briefly about the SSAT writing section, which, although scored, is an important indicator of students’ writing level AND is sent to the admissions departments of the schools to which the student has applied.
Teaching methods:
We will combine a variety of teaching methods, including classroom teaching via zoom, group discussion, teacher demonstrations, and homework assignments. There will also be the possibility of group/individual class competitions.
